How Pain Hurts Why Massage Helps
Each course will train anatomy, physiology, function and dysfunctions of the areas listed below, as well as common pain syndromes, surgical approaches, and step-by-step treatment routines. Every workshop provides photographic manuals and practices hands on techniques.
Torso/Pelvis
This 20 CE contact hour course will train anatomy, physiology, functions and dysfunctions of the thoracic, pelvic and lumbar areas, as well as common syndromes, surgical approaches and step-by-step routines.
Cervical/Cranium
This 20 CE contact hour course will train anatomy, physiology, functions and dysfunctions of the head, including TMJ, cervical muscles, whiplash, headaches, military neck, and craniomandibular pain, as well as common syndromes, surgical approaches and a step-by-step therapy routine.
Upper Extremity
This 20 CE contact hour course will train anatomy, physiology, functions and dysfunctions of the shoulder, arm and hand. Carpal tunnel, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, and SIT tendons, as well as common syndromes, surgical approaches and a step-by-step therapy routine will be discussed.
Lower Extremity
This 20 CE contact hour course will train anatomy, physiology, functions and dysfunctions of the hip, thigh, knee, leg and foot. Sciatica, degenerative hip, knee pain, fallen arches, and bunions as well as common syndromes, surgical approaches and step-by-step routines will be discussed.
NMT for the Gravity Game (previously Posture, Acture, & Gaiting)
Our bodies are challenged to deal with gravity every day. Muscles and bones are designed to compensate in a functional manner while conserving body resources. However, when adaptional demands are too great or are prolonged, decompensation with serious consequences may result. You can be more effective for your clients/patients by learning useful strategies to observe, assess and deal with poor posture, muscle substitution, dysfunctional gait mechanics, the close environment and habits of use.
This 12 CE contact hour course will include assessment for anatomical/functional leg length difference, assessment of pelvic position, and navicular drop test for arch loss, as well as take a look at the usefulness of Fukuda-Uterberger test, Hautant's test, single leg stance test, Trendelinburg test, and other assessments for balance and gait.

NMT Intro-Care of the Posterior Cervical Spinal Muscles 12 CE contact hours
This course will examine the six physiological factors which create or intensify pain in the body and the neurological laws which play varying roles in myofascial pain syndromes. We will discuss the nervous system's role in the transition from acute to chronic pain and how dysfunctional biochemics and posture affect pain patterns. Conditions such as whiplash, scoliosis, and disc disease will be explored and discussed. Students will receive training in anatomy, physiology, the function and dysfunctions of the cervical region, as well as common pain syndromes, surgical approaches and a step-by-step treatment routine for the posterior cervical region.
NMT Intro-Tenderly Touching the TM Joint 12 CE contact hours
This course will examine the six physiological factors which create or intensify pain in the body and the neurological laws which play varying roles in myofascial pain syndromes. We will discuss common dental conditions which affect the musculature and the function of the temporomandibular joint and the common muscular conditions which affect the teeth and jaw. The degenerative processes associated with TM Joint disease will be explored. Students will receive training in anatomy, physiology, the function and dysfunctions of the temporomandibular joint, as well as common pain syndromes, surgical approaches, and a step-by-step routine for addressing this joint.
